We spent the last few hours we had left in Salzburg to make a quick tour around city.
Statues from Mirabell gardens.
Lunch was at “Pizza to Go”. They have great pizza for about 2 euros a slice.
Beer is the same price as a bottle of soda.
Brandon just thought this ad was pretty funny/cheesy.
When we were about to walk out of the city center we did something we had always wanted to do. We took an elevator up to the modern museum over looking the city. We couldn’t believe we hadn’t ever done this before. The view was spectacular. While we stood up there the sun came out just long enough for us to snap these shots.
There is a vast series of walking trails throughout the hills surrounding the city. One of the trails passes where we were standing and we noticed an older couple taking a leisurely stroll.
It was time to finally leave number 7 Strubergasse and make our way back to Munich
Salzburg train station.
Munich train station
We walked around the city center, had some dinner and spent a little time in the Hofbrauhaus.
Hofbrauhaus is always a fun experience. Yes it is full of tourists but it also has a lot of locals who love to dress up and have fun with the tourists. These locals in exchange get their own stein with a place to store them and a reserved table.
We were so sad that our trip was over. It was a long walk and train ride back to our hotel at the airport. We got about 5 hours of sleep and had to get up at 4 am in order to make our flight home. It has been an incredible trip that we feel extremely fortunate to have been able to make. We are both tired but are already cooking up our next adventure.
