We are catching up on several days worth of pictures as we are finally back to Salzburg where we left our memory card reader.
Kelly’s reflection of her typing away at the blog on the train to Budapest.
This was the typical view out our window out of the train to Budapest.
We had heard a lot about the Main Nashmarket where produce, meats and spices are sold as well as anything else you might want. It was quite impressive. We tried a little of the local dishes while we were there.
Local tram outside the Nashmarket.
Local wine for sale. 990 forint is about $5.
After a full day’s trip and walking around for a few hours, we were starving, tired and couldn’t find anything that sounded great. That usually leads to desperation and we ended up at the Hard Rock Budapest where we thoroughly enjoyed our diet coke with ice and a hamburger.

Opera is really an important part of the Budapest culture. We were able to get tickets to a performance of Le Boheme. We had never been to an Opera so we didn’t know what to expect. The building was beautiful.
We had mentioned that there are areas of great wealth and great poverty. Here are some pictures of the poorer areas of Hungary:
Here is our hotel at the Intercontinental Hotel Budapest. With the exchange rate, this room was really inexpensive.
The view out our window at night.
